H1B to EAD

Here is the situation for a friend of mine..

He is working on H1B and his wife is also working on her own H1B when they got married last year. Now they both got their EAD. My friend is the primary applicant. His wife wants to quit her job and take couple of months off and possibly use EAD in 08.

The questions he has are

(i) Is there any paper work he needs to file for her, so that she will not be out of status? She will not be working . Does having an EAD and not using it will that a valid status to be in?

(ii) SHould he apply for H4 for her?

There is no requirement to file any forms for her. She is in AOS pending as soon as her 485 was received. No need to apply for H4 either since she is planning on working with her EAD.
