I currently have H1B status (coming from F1). I am with a post doc at University A, and will start another post doc at University B in a couple of months. I assume that my H1b will be transferred, and I'll not have a gap in my employment. I don't have a visa stamp in my passport, and I'd like to travel to my home country before switching jobs.
The question is, can I get a stamp with the paperwork of University A, then enter the country and switch jobs after about a week? My concern is mainly if I could have trouble at the Embassy or POE. Do I have any other options for traveling and getting the stamp?
