I got my H1B petition approved 24 july 2006. The free slots are not availiable at delhi consulate until december. My current company is sending me to UK for 6 months starting sep 2006 to march 2006. I should be back to india in march end or april. I have following questions.

1. Can I attend at US consulate in UK ? If yes, what is the procees to take an appointment and also, do i need any supporting documents ?

2. Are the chances of H1 rejections more if I come back to india from UK and attend the delhi consulate in april ? Would the large gap in petition approval and attending delhi consulate for stamping affect in any way ?

please clarify.

Visa Interview

Yes, you may attend the US Consulate in UK for a visa interview telling them you are on an assignment in UK on behalf of your company and showing all the documentary proof needed for the purpose. For an appointment you'll have to check out the US consulate's UK website

2. Are the chances of H1 rejections more if I come back to india from UK and attend the delhi consulate in april ? Would the large gap in petition approval and attending delhi consulate for stamping affect in any way ?

No, chances are more nor less for rejection. Is this your first stamping or revalidation of a renewed approval notice? You should be able to get your visa and there should not be any issues as long as the VO is convinced about your credentials

The large gap has no bearing on visa issuance.

If you are going to India and this is your first stamping, be patient, seek an appointment in India and you will be successful
