H1B stamping in New Delhi

I am planning a trip to India this December. I need to get my 8th year H1B stamping. I am from the Chennai region. Hence I was looking for an appt. in the Chennai consulate. But nothing is available until May '07. When I looked at New Delhi, there are lot of open slots even from Oct '06. Hence I thought I could make an appt for New Delhi.

My question is that, if any of my relatives in Chennai take a D.D and get the HDFC bank receipt, can I use it to make an appt. in New Delhi ?. I assume I can do it. I want to confirm.

I understand if I need to change the appt to a prior date, I need to cancel the existing appt and book a new one. Also, I understand that I can make 2 changes at the max...and after that, I can not do anything for the next 60 days.

My other question is - since I am from Chennai region, I will try to change the appt to Chennai. What is the best time to look at the VFS site to know the new available dates (earlier date, I am shooting for Dec '06)

Thanks

---- Yes, a HDFC receipt taken anywhere in India is acceptable for an appointment at any of the 4 US Consulates in India

Hi,
I belong to Jamshedpur , which is near Calcutta , but between 2004 - 2004 I lived in Kanpur( near New Delhi ) where I got my passport made.
I now work in hyderabad which is near chennai.

I have got a job in the US and my employer has filed a petition for the H1 B

Can anyone please help out which centre should I apply for the interview.
Can I get it processed at any centre in India ?

Thanks
