H1B stamping in Canada with / without GC application

Hi,

I would like to know if there is any impact on H1B stamping at Canada if your employer has started the GC application process as against going for stamping when you are only on H1B and no GC processing has been initiated?

Any pointers to existing threads on this or any information sites would also be appreciated. I couldn't find any similar thread on this topic though.
