Just wated to get a thread stated for H1-B stamping experience at New Delhi Consulate.

My brother is going for H1B stamping in New Delhi.

My brother is going for H1B stamping in New Delhi. He is going to get stamp first time for USA. Interview is in September.

Any suggestions ?
 
Any updates on this ? Did your brother get the visa stamped ? Pleas epost experiences..

I am planning on going in Dec. to New Delhi to get my VISA Stamped .
I am in my 7th year, so will see how that goes...

Guys,

Got H1 and H4 stamped in Delhi on 31st Aug.
The waiting time was about 30mins and interview was about 5mins.
My case was a revalidation, working in the same company for 3 yrs, salary more than LCA.
The guy never asked for even a single paper, just general questions like where do you live, what is the salary, asked my wife about the place etc.

But I would suggest, take all your docs like w2's, tax returns, paystubs, certs, employment letter etc.

I am planning to go to India in mid November and have to go to US consulate in Delhi. I have following questions for you.
1) Shall I need to make appointment 4-5 weeks in advance? how long is the wait for appointment? any idea?
2) How many working days did it take to get your stamped passport back?
3) My Green card is under processing (140/485 concurrent processing). There is a place in VISA application where it asks about Immigration petition or like that. Would it be a problem if I fill it with Yes and put my alien number etc.? Will it impact VISA revalidation or GC prcess in any mean?

Please help and give your comments.

For_Labor

1) For appointments check ttsvisas.com as suggested by waitingforgc04
2) They tell you that you will get it back in a week's time but I got mine at Lucknow in 4 days. My stamping date was the same as the interview date.
3) You should put yes at the appropriate place on DS-156 and I don't think it will be a problem

Some additional tips
- The photo size required for visa is kind of non standard in India so the best way is to get them here.
- Form DS-157 is to be filled for all persons ( males or females ). The visa revalidation office at St.Louis requies it for males only.
- The form is not available at the embassy and it should be printed back to back on the same page
- When you take an appointment and fill in your particulars, there is no provision of entering the US address, you can only fill in your India address. Make sure that you fill in the same address on the form. I had filled in my US address on the form and they asked me to fill in the India address also.

Will "Courtesy Copy" be adequate?

My employer has sent me the "Courtesy Copy" of the H-1B approval notice. The original approval notice sent to the attorney has been lost in the mail. Will the "Courtesy Copy" my employer gave me be adequate for the consulate in New Delhi when I go for my visa stamping?

H1 Stamping from delhi -- Tips ?

Hi,

I am on H1 visa in US I will be going for H1 stamping for the first time in Delhi in Dec-04. Can someone suggest me what documents do I need to carry ? Also if there are some additional tips/tricks/suggestions etc..!!

Can someone post some sample questions if you guys are aware of ?

Is someone familiar with the bluedot service for sending documents prior to the interview ?
