H1B Stamping at Ottawa

Hello,

I will be getting my H1B stamped at Ottawa pretty soon. I have finished my graduation in US. However my issue is, my studies belong to a different academic background than my area of work. I am a software engineering professional, but I have my graduation was in Mechanical Engineering. Will this be an issue. If anybody has any suggestions, it will be very helpful.

I am also in a similar situation. Can somebody please advise if its risky to go to Canada for stamping if I have a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering and working in Software?
Some people say Mexico is safe but others at the same time strobgly recommend not to go to Mexico as that could be difficult place to get out if u need to go back to India.
