H1B revalidation rejection : 221(g)

Hi all,
My H1-B revalidation is rejected with 221 (g) reason:your application is not clearly approvable at this time. Per regulations you require a personal interview with a consular officer. you must apply for a new visa overseas at a US embassy or consulate that processes nonimmigrant visa apps.


I have sent all required documents and I was never out of status.
My previous 2 H1 visas are not from India.
The first one is stamped at Vancouver (aug 1999) and the second is a revalidation (june 2000).
Is it true that
if you don't have a visa stamping from India you cannot get revalidation these days (after 9/11). It was not the case before because I got the revalidation like that.


I dont see any other problem with my application.

when did you sent for revalidation ??
Does your New I-797 has a I-94
When is your current visa expired and I-94??
post your info .. we might be able to tell you the exact reason.

here is my info:
with Employer A current visa expired 02 july 2003
got new I797 and I94 with employer B
expiry date is 12/13/2004
sent for revalidation on
St Louis: Aug 25
Washington: received Sep 26
Got reply and passport back on Dec 4
reason: 221 g

passport expires : 27 oct 2004

Hmm.. I dont see any drawbacks in this info and at the same time i dont know why they issued 221g.. Your information looks meaningfull.. but dont know why??
Did they asked any further documetation or just asked you to attend at the home country???

just asked to go to a consulate overseas and get it.
my guess is
bcoz i dont have a visa stamped from my home country ,
the previous 2 H1 's are from Vancouver and revalidation,
so they wanted me to go overseas.
 
I am sending my visa revalidation too and my case is exactly similar.

I have 3 H1 visa's in my passport . First 2 are done in India and latest in USA.

So are the chances of getting revalidation good?

1. Is it ok to send it again for revalidation ?
2. If yes should I send it to St Louis or Washington?

Got my PP stamped after going through 221(g) issues

First of all I thank ALL the folks who shared their most valueble information.

Hi,

Finally I received my PP bk frm DC after I sent back with 221(g).
Here is the detail summary:

1.Original Submission of PP receched St.Louis - Aug 15th

2.From St.Louis reached DC on - Sep 28th

3. Got back my PP with 221(G) issue Visa office looking for more in detail from my employer about me on Dec 20th,2003.

4. I sent back to Visa office with all required documents and reache Visa office on Dec 22nd,2003.

5. Stamping on my passport was done on 2nd Jan 2004.

6. Finally completed printing visa on my PP and was shipped on 5th Jan 2004.

7. Today (01/06/2004) I received my PP with stamping on it all set

I hope this infomration will be useful for all them.

Any luck with your case ? A friend of mine is in the same
situation and is trying to find a good solution.
