I am going to India in October and have a valid H1B visa. It is a seventh year extension visa and the previous H1B expired only at the end of July, 2003. But I never got the earlier H1 stamped on my passport as I never left US for over 3 1/2 years. And so the last valid H1B stamp in my passport expired at least 2 years back. All stay in the US and documents are valid and legal.
I just am not sure if I can use the drop-box (as I am renewing a visa that expired only 2 months back) or have to schedule an interview well in advance (as the last visa that was stamped on my passport expired over 2 years back).
