H1B revalidation in Mumbai

Hi,

I am currently working on an H1B visa in the US. I have recieved a new I-797 from the BCIS, but the visa stamped on my passport has expired on 31st Jan 2003.

I opted to do my visa renewal in India since I would have made my trip within a year after the visa expiration. But due to circumstances beyond control, my trip got delayed.I will be in India in the 2nd week of February 2004 to attend family functions and also for visa renewal.

As you can see, I will just miss the drop box deadline by less than 2 weeks.

However my wife will be in Mumbai in December. Can I send the documents with her so that she can avail the drop box for both, my H1 and her H4 visa?

you can send your wife for her h-4 . however you cannot send your passport for revalidation there. mailing the passport out of the country is against law. and mailing a passport to a different country than currently present will raise brows.
