I have been in US on H1B from April, 2005. I came here on a small consultant visa and switched to another after 3.5 months. I have been with my present company since August 2005. I am planning to go to India in May/June 2006 for my H1B visa revalidation. My Visa is valid until August 2008 and I-94 until Sept 2007.
I am from Bangalore, but I attended the H1B Consulate Interview in Delhi and got it approved without any problem. Now I have a few questions...
1. If I should go back to Delhi for H1B visa revalidation (with my present company visa) or go to Chennai. I know Chennai has more rush than Delhi. Should Delhi consulate have any problems because I am from Chennai region ?
2. I was also thinking of going to Canada/Mexico, but I am fearing as I dont have a US degree and have been in US for less than a year.
3. What documents should I be carrying apart from my employment letter, pay stubs, W2 forms ?
4. Should I mention to the Consulate Officer that my present company is filing for my green card. I work for the Federal Government ( Dept of Labor)but am employed by a Consulltant / Contractor.
5. Share your experiences about flying to India,appointments and when I should start preparing for the dates.Will I get my passport stamped the same day or should I stay in Delhi for a day or two before I fly to Bangalore from there ?
