h1B - Receipt Date Mistake - How can i FIX it?

Hi,

My attorney got the Receipt in Email for my H1B (US-MS cap) petition and the Date Received there says April 2 , 2007.

BUT, when i checked my Case Stauts from USCIS Official Case Status online (https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/caseStatusSearch.do) it shows APRIL 9, 2007.

Question:

1. Which Date USCIS will acautally use for the Lottery? April 2 (on my receipt) or April 9 (which it shows online on USCIS website)?

2. If USCIS made a mistake, about the Receipt Date, then how can i fix it before my petition goes to lottery?

There are two dates on your H1B Receipt Notice that your attorney got.

1. Actual Receipt Date - date that USCIS received the case

2. Notice Date - date that USCIS entered into the system - This is what you see on the Internet as April 9th.


You should not consider the Notice Date. So do not worry and your case was received by them on 2nd April.
