H1B Pending, Working on CPT and laid off

Hello,

I was working on CPT and my company filed H1B for me on April 1st 2007. In mean time I lost my job. Hence before H1B confirmation I had to leave company.

Can this company keep my H1B alive while I am not working with them?
If I get another job, can we transfer this H1B to new company?

Please guide as it is imperative for me to decide what to do next.

look for a new job asap. you can join based on CPT as long as it is valid. your new employer will have to file a new H1b, it is specific to the company and to the job.

Yes, very true. Just remember that the H-1B quota has been met for this year. You can apply for job at a university, a non-profit or likewise.
