H1B offer while on F-1

Hi,

I am currently doing OPT till the end of year and going back to school for my Masters in Jan' 2010.

My employer will be doing my H1-B in April 2010.

I need some advise on what would be the best way to handle this situation.

Should I start my Masters in Jan and apply for COS to H1B?

I have no idea on how to proceed in this situation.
Any help will be much appreciated

Employer can apply for automatic COS to H1B effective October 1, you will have to maintain F1 status till then.

Just to clarify- Do you mean until the automatic COS to H1B takes place in Oct, I will have to be a full-time F-1 student for Jan'2010 and Fall'2010.

And starting Oct 1, I can study part-time and drop courses for fall semester.

Till Sep 30 you need to be full time student (summer vacation is allowed, ask your school DSO).
From Oct 1 you need to be full time employee (you can study side by side, but have to work)
