H1B lost/stolen..plz help

hi all,
I lost my H1B papers(my H1B approval form-I797 and all those papers). I've my original passport, I94, SSN card W2 and recent paystubs. With this can I call the INS and ask for a duplicate copy of my H1B papers?
This is pretty urgent for me..anybody with experience in this kinda issue please reply

You can get apply for a duplicate approval notice by sending Form I-824 to the Service Center. It is currently taking about 3-4 months to get it.

Same issue : lost 1-797 original approval notice

Even I have the same issue. My H1B visa expires in Nov/2005 and I need to go to india in couple of months. I have lost my original approval of notice.
Can you please mention if you got the duplicate approval ? if so in how many months ?

Also, since I-824 is the channel to go for obtaining a duplicate approval, will it be possible to get a visa stamping with out the original approval and with a receipt of the I-824 and proper documentation from the company?

Any body with knowledge/experience with this ..please help.
