Hello Everybody,

here is my current problem:

* PhD EE, been in the U.S. for 6.5 years, always in status as an H1b
* got a 7th yr extension based on a Labor Cerrt pending more than 1yr from previous employer
* the 7th year H1b extension was granted until Jan 2007
* changed employers in March 2006, shortly after new employer filed for an H1B transfer
* CSC came back and decided my transfer was granted, but only until July 2006 !!!

So this means CSC cut back my approved time to stay from Jan 2007 to July 2006.

Current lawyer is not really helpful, claimed it was only clerical error at CSC, but never could confirm this.
Basically, I think they duped my H1b transfer and now try to weasel out of it.

So what are the options we have whil we are wrapping things up in a hurry ?
Selling our house in the current market will most likely take longer than the remaining 6 weeks my family and I are permitted to stay !!

Any suggestions ?
Can I apply for a B-Visa to lengthen my stay until we sold our property and packed up ?
How will I be able to travel overseas for interviews while wrapping up ?
What´s the danger of having our reentry to the U.S. denied ?

Any helping comments are greatly appreciated- Thanks !

why dont you ask CSC for correction in the error and get it changed to jan 07 instead of june 06?? if the lawyer does not want to do it, can you get an other employer to file for your h1b??
as long as you file, u r legal....

You still have time if you want to do it.

1)I would file another extension in first place asap
2)Then I would check with CSC for correction.Normally this is a long process.Possibility is Lawyer might have made a mistake. To confirm this if you have access to I-129/LCA and you can check this
3)If possible change the lawer....
