H1B I797 with Class Consulate "delhi", but am staying in Pune for last 6 months

Hi,

I am a permanent resident of UttarPradesh, was in Delhi for more than 5 years for my education an job, but currently have been working in Pune for last 1 year.

My I797 has class consulate mentioned as "H1B NEW DELHI", also I129 Part4 (processing information) has my U.P. home address.

Now I am wondering, should I be going to DELHI or to MUMBAI ? Please help.

You should not have mentioned that you current residence was UP, whilst, you were actually staying in Pune at the time of filing your H-1B. You can try to attend the appointment at New Delhi and present all truthful facts if you were asked by the consular officer. If the consular officer would like to forgive this minor issue, you would be fine. Otherwise, you may be redirected to Mumbai consulate.

One other way could be for your employer to request an amendment to your H-1B, by sending the request to USCIS.
