I am planning to go to Vancouver Canada for H1 and H4 visa stamping in the second week of August 04.Our status has been changed from J to H last year and we are having expired J visa in our passport but I-94 issued by INS is valid till 2007.
I am scared and want to know that it is safe to go to Canada for H visa stamping.I have read many success of Visa stamping in Canada in this forum but till today I have not read that any one has been denied visa in Canada.
Please share your experience.
Thanks,
SLHA

My visa expires on 11th Aug 2004

Hi
I do have the same situation and I'm also planning to go to Canada.
My visa expires on 11th Aug 2004 and I got H1 extension upto 2006 Feb.

Are there any chances of denial in Canada? Can I comeback on my old visa if they deny to stamp?

I think in canada they have also started scrutinizing applications. My friend went to Toronto and they asked all sorts of documents like photograh of company, my friends works with consultant so they asked him all previous w2 and compared the salary with one in LCA. Also rejected him based on 221(g) because his salary was less than mentioned in LCA. So be as prepared to go there as ur going to India. Looks like it is getting as tough as India.

My friend was saying mostly those people who have been on bench some time were having issues and getting 221(g).

So my advice to you be prepared to show any doc as u would in India.
