Here's my situation. I came to US in Jan 2000 on L1. Next year I swithced to H1 in April 2001 and I've been on H1 since then. In May 2005 I changed my employer and we filed for new H1 . Yesterday I got my H1b approval till April 2007. I read somewhere that 6 years limit is H1 and L1 combined so technically my six years are up on Jan 2006 .
Did INS approve me till April 2007 by mistake ? Should I point it to them or is it OK to stay here beyond Jan 2006 . I am planning to leave in May 2006 forever . Will it create any problem if in future say after 3 or 4 years an India based company files my H1 or L1.
