H1B extension Question - Please help

My I-485 is pending RD 2/15/02

I am applying for my H1B extension. My application may reach INS a day or two after my current H1B expires.

I remember reading somewhere that you have a 10 day grace period for H1B renewals. Can anyone post the link where this is mentioned or share his views.

Would you mind explaining your problem further. If your RD is 2/15/02, then you are in the adjustee status, and your cases is pending with INS. So effectively you can work/switch jobs/Travel on EAD/AP, you don't need a 7th year extension of your H1 unless you plan to get married and fetch your wife over or something like that. What is this

I want to continue my H1 status

instead of getting on EAD. Hence the renewal request.

It depends on the post date. So if you posted before your current H1 expires, it is ok.

What did your lawyer say?
