I have a H1B, which was extended November 2003. I want to get it stamped on my passport, before going on a 2-week vacation to India this November.
My visa is valid till November 2006, but my passport expires in July 2006.
I remember reading on some post that the US Consulate in Canada will not stamp visa on passport unless the passport is valid for atleast 6 months more than the visa. Is this true?
The Indian Embassy said that they cannot take applications for renewal of passport till 1 year before its expiry, July 2005 in my case.
I have seen a lot of posts with similar questions, but couldn't find any answers. Could someone help please? Do you know if this is a problem? What are the chances for me to get the stamping done succesfully in Canada?
