Hi everyone!

I am currently in the US on H1B status. I was petitioned by my employer, a catholic high school, last year and my contract with them is on an annual basis. The initial petition was good for 1 year and will expire in August. The school renews my contract for another year so we will be doing the application of extension this week. I have several questions and I hope the gurus here and those with the same experience in the past could enlighten me on these issues.

1. I am doing the application for extension with only a very little support on the processing from the school. Should I need a help of a lawyer on this? I did have a lawyer for the initial petition last year though and it was expensive.

2. How long will I get the receipt number? I know we will send the papers to California Service Center.

3. How long will the process be until the approval of the extension? Is premium processing necessary?

4. What papers should be included in the packet which will be sent to CSC? I know I have to send the completed I-129 and the supplement, ETA form or the LCA. Should I provide them a copy of I-797 (notice of action/approval)? Do I still have to send them copies of my documents/credential?

5. What are the fees to be paid for the application of extension?

Your answers will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
