H1b Extension and Transfer from 2 Companies and Current Status

Hello,


Here is my case:

I am working on H1b Visa. Company A holds my H1b Visa and the company owners owned more than 1 companies. They seperated and from last 2 or 2.5 months Company B is running my payroll. They divided business (consultants) in Company A and Company B.

Now, i have applied for H1b Extension through another company, say, Campany C.


Question 1: Am i out of status because from more than 2 months i am getting salary from Company B whereas my H1b is owned by Company A?

Question 2: Now, i am not very sure that i would easily get an extension. So, can i simuntaneously apply for H1b transfer and extension to Company B which is running my payroll from last 2.5 months?



Please help!
