H1b extension after 6 years

Hi,

I have an unique situation. I finished my 6 years of H1B. I have to stay here for an medical treatment. The treatment already started. But as per doctor I need to stay here for atleast an year or so. I know i can apply for B2 and extend my stay. My question is, Is it possible to apply for an H1 extension now, so that I can work and support my self financially.

BTW I haven't applied for the green card. Not even applied for labor.

Nope, you cannot extent your H1

You can try filing for Change of status to a B-2
