H1b Change of status-221(g) pink form-Chennai consulate

Hi Friends,

I came to INDIA for my vacation and
went to Chennai consulate on 12th Dec 2007 for for H1b change of status. I got 221(g) pink color form.


First question, Your responsibilities..answered correctly.
Next question....Do you have any proof that you are working at ABC client on behalf of your company(top 4 company in india).

I said that,right i don't have any proof,but i have my company USA offer letter,the same thing i have given to VO.

Actually I am working for that client ABC for the past one year. But VO did'n check the paystubs,Tax doc,company authourisation letter...etc.

VO enter all the info,after 5 min he given the pink slip with case ID.

Then I am trying to show my US driver licence and my EAD card,he said that " I trust you sir,i need more information". Pl check the chennai consulate website for your status,once status changed,send your passport,no need to come again.

Still now my status shows "pending process".

My petition H1b change of status was approved on Nov1st 2007, after the my interview AT chennai,i check my status in USCIS website,showing "petition received and processing".

I was shocked,I received the physical copy of I 797 but why the status was not updated in USCIS?

On Jan 15th 2008 my H1b petition status changed in USCIS website " Petition approved and send".

But still i didn't find any change in my status in http:chennai.usconsulate.gov.

Almost 50days is over....i am postphoned my journey..working from india.

My doubt my case is H1b change of status,PIMS is not upadating the Change od status and extension case.
How the change of status cases handled in PIMS...is there any manually process???

I contacted to chennai consulate,they said case is with US state deportment....

Could any one having the similar situation....H1b change of status....

please post your experiences is highly appreciated....

Hi,

I attended my visa interview at the Chennai consulate yesterday and the interview went pretty well. I completed my masters from the University of Florida and he was talking to me about the Gators and he asked me what I do for company and I answered concisely and correctly and then he typed some stuff on his computer and said 'everything on your visa looks good, but I need some further information before we can process it and it'll take 3-7 weeks ' and he gave me a pink 221g.

When I told him I have all of these documents on me right now, he said even if i have everything it'll still take 3-7 weeks. And that he was extremely sorry and I should speak to my employer and explain the situation to them. He said I had done nothing wrong, its just that in some cases we need more information.

I am trying to get all the documents in order, I have a few questions:
1. Under trip itinerary what should I list? I am going to Florida to work there
2. Under Plans after completion of study/work what do I list? Should I say come back to my home country and get a job with an engineering company
3. For the scanned letter of invitation, can I send that alone as a pdf as a separate file and the rest of it as a text document as another file?

Any help or thoughts or comments or similar experiences would help. I am very frustrated and extremely unhappy at this situation and really want to just go back.
