Timeline:
Foreign-trained Gen Surgeon,
2003-2005 Clinical Fellowship in US on J1.
August 2005 - found employer accepting J1 waiver (IL)
October 31 2005 - Health Agency sent my application to DOS. No lawyer involved.
February 28 - DOS approval, sent to USCIS
April 14 - IL license
March 31 - USCIS received application (slow mail!)
May 31 - USCIS approval (exactly on day 60, I checked my email once again before calling customer service)
August 15 - applied for H1b (premium processing, this time with a lawyer)
August 21 - H1b approved
 
Pls could you provide the details of the attorney you hired to file your H1b with premium processing. I would be processing my H1b pretty soon, I'm also a physician and would appreciate your recommendation re: attorney/lawyer.
