H1B Approved - How about COS ?

Hi All,

I got this noticed today from the BCIS website case status tool:

"On September 23, 2004, an approval notice was mailed. If 14 days have
passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify
or update your address. To update your address, please call the
National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283"

Does that mean the COS (Change of Status) was also approved or just
the H1B & H4 ?

Then, later on, it changed to:

"On September 23, 2004 the appropriate American Consulate or port of
entry was notified by cable, telephone, or fax of the approval of this
case".

Can you tell me what the latter means ?
Anything to do with the COS ?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Apparently USCIS assumed you were not in the US or you did not request a Change of Status, so they notified the consulate in your home country. Though, your application was approved. You can obtain your visa stamp by going to the appropriate consulate with all the required documentation.
