I have an appointment on Oct 18th for my H1B visa petition at the Chennai consulate. Due to some constraints at work, I will not be able to arrive in India by 18th. The next appointment date available is in late November. However, I have to fly back to USA by November 15th. Under these circumstances, can I appear for the appointment at any other consulate ? Is it ok to cancel the existing appointment??
