Friends, I have a tricky situation that I am hoping for help with. I have AP + EAD based on pending I-485. I wish to travel to Canada to get an H1B visa stamp. Why get a stamp when I have an AP already? Because then I can apply for an H4 for my spouse. I have never used the AP to return to the US.
I want to use the AP as a backup. Because I am from a special registration country, I am afraid I could be turned down in Canada or the process might take many weeks.
So, can I apply for a visa in Canada & if I am turned down or if i don't hear from them in a few weeks, just get my passport back & return to the US on AP instead? Is this risky?
