H1B and working remotely for a Canadian company

Canadian, On a H1B, living,working in US, can I work for a Canadian company(tele-commute) while on H1B? The Canadian company does not benifit from my being in the US(IT work), just trying to make some extra income. Is this possible?

While physically in the US, you may only work for your H1B sponsor. It does not matter where the other company is located or in what currency you will be paid, what you propose is in violation of your visa status in the US.

By the way, many employers prohibit their employees from taking on additional work as a condition of their employment contract.
