H1B and resident address

I got a 7th year extension and visa stamp on base of Labor certificate pending, My employer lawyer is in process to file I-140, In-between my wife and kids they move to Canada on base of PR. I am also at Canada.

I have traveling job; so it doesn’t require staying everyday in US, sometimes I will be out for two-three month, therefore I am planning to use my friend address.

Do I have to inform home land security for my new address?

Is there any problem for I-140?

I am thinking for consular processing when visa number is available, or this case better not to use consular processing?

The biggest advantage of consular processing is that you escape the namecheck issue.
Seeing what a nightmare it is turning into, you're better off using consular processing.
