Hello All,

I worked for abc company for last 3 years. They extended my h1b at the end of 3rd year. But during 4th year this year I changed my company and changed my h1b too. At the same year, abc company was sold to another company. abc company decided to give bonus to its current and formal employees. I got a bonus check from abc company. Since, I was not on their payroll they issued me a 1099 misc form for tax purposes for this tax year. My understanding is h1b employee can file only w2 form but not 1099 form. can i file my tax with my w2 from new company and this 1099 misc form from previous employee? If i do, what are the future consequences? My new employee is in process to file for PERM. I don't want to have any issue during PERm filing. Therefore, I don't know what to do with this 1099 misc form.

Please advice,

Thanks,
Uttam
