Most of the hospitals I\'ve interviewed with kindly agreed on sponsoring me a H-1B. But I have not yet cleared Step 3, desperately need help on this issue. If anyone has information on how to bypass the Step 3 requirement, please kindly drop me a line at: coollei88@hotmail.com, or post the reply here. Thank you!

Step 3 is a must for H-1B

You MUST pass Step 3 to be eligible for H-1B visa. Otherwise, you may have to get J-1 visa, very undesirable option.

you should take step 3 ASAP. If they really want you they should be able to give you a delayed start in residency. my wife faced the same situation and she took step 3 and started in october instead of july on an H-1B

Thanks

Thanks Sudhir.

My wife plans to take her CSA first and immmediately step III, and looking at the time line, it looks she can apply for the H1 only in last week of May or early June, is it in time for getting H1 these days. I mean, can she get her H1 in one month.

Thnx and Regards

Thnx Yooper.

Hi Yooper,

That is exactly what our plans are, but looking at the time line - it looks we will get at most 5 weeks for getting H1. Unless the programme she wants to join grants some extension. Is it possible to get H1 in 5 weeks. and how to go about it.

Thanks and Regards

Premium processing

For a thousand dollars more(paid with the H-1B appln-in addition to the usual fees) INS will process your appl and issue a visa within a month from the receipt date -provided all the paperwork is furnished at the time of appln. If they do not, they refund the money. There have been some experiences posted on this website where people got their visas within 2-3 weeks. Hope this helps.
