Dear friends,
My petition has been approved. I need to go for stamping now.
I am an Indian national working in Singapore for last 2 years on employment pass.
Can i get my stamping done in singapore itself or is it necessary to go to India to get it done. Please advise.

2 years of consistent working at Singapore

Hi,

Though its way late to be responding to this query.

Just as i hit upon this thread post based on my search. To be of help to anybody who is looking for it. Here it goes,

I hold an Indian Passport and had attended the stamping interview here in Singapore. The VO said to take it up in India, as they are looking for people with 2 years of consistent working in Singapore.

Also, to mention my I797B was addressed to Chennai Consulate though.

If any body else as difference of opnion or different success story for less than 2 years. Please do update here. So that its of use to anyone who is looking for it.

Might be, mine is a one off case, which got a 221g stamped on the passport itself, and was asked to take it up in India stating the reason that less than 2 years of working here.

Re:

I think (not very sure) that the first time H1B visa would be issued to a specific US Consulate close to the applicant permanent residence - example as stated in this thread, Chennai US Consulate. This might be required to be specified by the employer for first time US entry, as this might fall under H1B-Visa to be issued abroad category.

In the subsequent renewals/re-validation, I think H1-B revalidation can be done in any US Consulate posts i.e. Mexico/Canada etc.

Any other experts view would also be of much help too.
Please verify this information with your company's attorney or HR.
Ram.

Hi,

My case falls under description mentioned by navalavkaran.

I am here working in singapore since last 5 years. I got by approval and I am planning to go US embassy, singapore next week. I have indian passport and was on singapore EP for close to three years. And I am singapore PR right now.

My H1B approval was addressed to singapore consulate.

I will update my experience here after I get through it. Mean while anybody who get through it with positive experience, share it here for all like me.
