Im on F1 OPT. My employer files for my H1 soon.

I intend on going to Pakistan for my multiple visa stamping, around November/December 2004.

I need to know if anyone has been there lately, and that how long its taking at the Islambad/Karachi Embassy. Also is there anything I need to be carful of before going there?

I am debating totally avoiding this trip, but need to start my GC process soon. After which I dont think I should go at all.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply Joe.

The reason for which I dont want to go for H1 stamping after filing for my green card, is that in my understanding the embassy will surely deny my H1 multilple stamping in Pakistan, on grounds that I have intent to stay back in the US permanently.

Well thats what I have gathered. ??

Cheers.

Here is my opinion.

As I understand that u already got employer who is willing to support u. so start here filling LC (labor certf) and mentain ur status somehow... and jump-start ur GC quickly.... and if u are on status u can travel on AP(later).... if you loose ur status don't worry after I-140 starge apply EAD/485 concurrent and pay $1000 for 245() catagery.... and stick with boat....

if you are in dought then carefully make ur decision,
there (PAK) you will be on thier mercy .... tbink again...

Good Luck..

I am not attorney.... all I wrote is my personal opinion....

I understand.

All I said if he stay here and maintain status and beside start GC process, if he start his GC and then go for H1 , that would be difficult way and risky,

He has set his mind to set his life here and If he has some concern to be denied. then why take chance....
just stay here and maintain status untill he cross I140 stage.
