H1 visa stamping and misdemeanor charge

Hello,
I have to visit India and have to get my visa stamped H1-B. Now i have misdemeanor charge for domestic violence. I did go out of US after that and entered without much problem. But now i have to visit consulate to get my visa stamped (extension). So will that be a reason for denial of visa?
I would really appreciate your relevant experience.

Since you have misdemeanor charge for domestic violence, they may deny visa.

I was arrested, but not convicted for domestic violence. Charges were dropped. No case filed. Will my visa get denied?

Please help.
