Hi,

I am currently on H1 visa with my visa stamped till Dec-2012.
However, I am planning to move back to home country by the end of 2010. I know I have to pay taxes in US for the year 2010.

My question is "Am I liable to pay taxes to the US government for the income which I will be earning in my home country from 2011"?

My source of income is still going to be the same current company in US.

Thanks

You should ask a tax professional providing specific details of your case, but in general, not being a US citizen and not being in the US during the tax year - you have no tax liability in the US. If you are present during the tax year, but you're not resident for tax purposes - you'll be liable for the earnings in the US (the money you earned while working in the US, not from a US based company).

Again, seek advise from a tax professional. The above is from my personal knowledge and experience in a similar situation.
