H1 visa approved but not received passport with the stamped visa

Hi
I had gone to chennai US consulate for H1B visa interview on Dec.20. My interview went and was told that i would receive my passport with stamped visa within 10 day.
but to my dismay i haven't received my passport yet . as a result i have had to change my travels plans and am waiting but i am not getting any response from the consulate.
i have emailed them a number of times and have also called them but they keep telling me that i will receive it in a few day.
is there something i can do to speed up the process or someone i can contact at the consulate since this has prevented me from getting back to work.
help!!!!!!!!

I think there is a way to track your passport on the website where you scheduled your apointment. Did you try that?
 
yes i did try that. i called up but they have told it would take a few days.
but it has been a long wait

Did you try the way where you can SMS to some particular number and they tell you the status of your passport?
 
Try (VISA US passport number) and send to 7333

Thats the tracking I have on my appointment for mumbai consulate interview.
Guess it will work
