Hi all:
I want to share my experience for first time H1 visa stamping at Delhi consulate in Dec 2004. The consular asked following questions:
1. Where is the company located and when is it established?
2. What is the name of CEO or owner of company?
3. How did they contacted you?
4. What is company's web-site?
5. What areas the company deals with?
6. Company's head count?
7. Number of consultants hired/going to US this year through this company?
8. Why you want to move US?
9. What is your current project?
During interview consular left the window for 15-20 min and then restarted with same set of questions again. Then after 30 min or so officer handed me a letter requesting following additional docs required.
1. W-2 forms of other employees at your current US Company
2. Tax Returns for past 3 years for US Company
3. Lease for US Company
4. Bank Statement, brochures, major contracts, and annual report for US COMPANY
Unfortunately this is list of documents that is nowhere listed on any web-site. I did carry one-year tax return and company photos, still officer is not convinced.
My US Company is in business for last 10 year and it’s not a small company. I asked employer to send these additional docs but now they are not responding. It's been a month now.
I have another H1 approved through different company, I would like to know in worst case if my current employer (through which I visited first time) does not respond can I visit Delhi consulate and get visa on H1 petition through second company. Do I need to seek new appointment or I can take same letter which consular gave me listing no appointment required just bring additional docs. I am very confused I don't understand what wrong with my current employer is there something they want to hide?
Please help!
