Hi,
I have this question about visa stamping. Many of my friends and ppl are telling that I have to go back to India and get my visa stamped for the recent H1 transfer from company B I got. I have my H1 visa from company A valid till dec 2005. Please advice
no you dont have to go to India to get its stamped as long as u have a current valid I-94 with you along with the new approval transfer.
U need stamp only for entry and the I-94 determines ur legal stay, In fact if ur stamp is still unexpired then you can use that stamp with new employers approval to reneter.
all this confusion has happened due to incorrect reporting in leading Indian newpapers about the DOS decidion to stop revalidating the visa stamp in US.
waitin_toolong is correct i too have entered US with the valid visa stamp from my previous employer and approval notice from my new employer and got the I-94 valid till my new employer approval notice date and not the visa date .The POE was cincinatti .
