H1 Transfered / not stamped / H4 stamping in India

Hi,
I just got my H1 transfered from one firm to another and got H1 approval notice (I-797). but i have not sent my passport for stamping to DOS yet. Can my wife in India get herself stamped for H4, if i don\'t get my passport stamped with new visa.
I will send a copy of my passport with old visa stamp and my new H1 approval to my wife. I am already working for new employer and have his paystubs.
its Urgent...will appreciate any help on it...
 
Thats possible!

I did the same thing a year ago. Also send the copy of your old I797 too, just in case if the consulate needs to check the validity dates.
