H1 transfer

What is the maximum time gap would INS consider to tranfer H1 to a new employer after being terminated by the current employer.

Actually none or 10 days at the most.

If you are not able to substantiate your job holding till you file
for a new H1B then the INS can issue an H1 requiring a consular
approval ( i.e. without the I-94 stub).
