H1 transfer without working for "A"

Hi All,
I'm on H4 visa and company A sponsored H1b for me for the current year and it has been approved.
Now company B is offering me a better job profile and are ready to transfer my visa.
Can visa transfer be done to B?

Are you talking about year 2008-09 or 2009-10?
If 08-09, are you sure you are in H4 status? If H1 was filed as change of status, you need to work from October 1.

If you are not in H1 status (your latest I-94 is H4) then new employer can file a new cap-exempt petition for you.

I'm referring to 09-10.
H1 was filed as consular notification.
My current status is H4.
