H1 Transfer Situation

I am H1 B Holder for approx 3 years (Assume Orignal Company ABC).
I have applied for H1 B Transfer say from Company X. During
the same period I found much better job prospects from Company Y.

The situation is,

I have H1 B Transfer in process with Company X and now I want to Transfer my H1 B to Company Y. Is this possible legally or there any Issue with this ? Do I have to wait until my Visa Transfer Process gets
completed from Company X and then apply Transfer to Company Y

Pls advise.

I have been in a similar situation.
I had applied for a 2nd transfer while the 1st transfer was in process. half way thru, I got an RFE for the 1st transfer and my lawyer changed the 2nd transfer to premium processing. That was approved, following which I withdrew the 1st transfer in proper time. As per my lawyer, I was and am in legal status all along this, due to portability law.
