H1 Transfer Question, Help!

I am doing my H1-transfer and have the following questions.

1. My wife\'s H4 is still valid for more than a year. When I do my H1-transfer, do I need to do her H4 transfer or can she still continue on her original H4?

2. After submitting my H1-transfer docs to INS, do I need to wait for INS receipt or can I start working with the FEDEX receipt showing delivery to INS?

You are allowed to work upon receipt of documents by INS, for which Fedex receipt is enough proof. However, offically INS has not received it until it has issued you a receipt notice. It\'s upto your employer or his attorney how he interprets it.
