Here is my case
1) Currently working with a private company, on valid H1-B Visa, already counted against the Master'c cap in April 2008 .
2) May need to change my job, due to not so good conditions at my company. Luckily have an work offer from a well known public University to work as a full time professional.
I had heard that the H1-B tied to academic or non profit institutions are cap-exempt type. So my question is, if I transfer my H1-B to the University system, will it now become a cap-exempt H1-B ? Specifically, if I need to come back to the private corporate world, will my H1-B be directly portable, or do I need to go through the cap counting / lottery once again ?
Thanks in Advance
