H1 transfer - passport expired, but have valid h1b visa

I have a valid h1b visa (valid untl June 2008), and approved I 797 valid until 2010, for company A. I have an offer with a different company now. I just observed that my passport has expired in January, 2008. (this year). Would this be a problem for h1b transfer to the new company?

Obtain a new passport and transfer the H-1B. The visas in the Old passport remain valid till their validity period.
