H1 transfer needs a H4 transfer

My h1 B is from company A and i work as a consultant to Company B [corp to corp], now company B is looking to hire me.

Both myself and my wife got H1B and H4 visa stamped till 2012.

My wife is in india now.

questions i have are

1. Should i wait till she returns and than apply for H1 transfer?

2. If i apply for transfer and my file is pending, will it effect her entry?

3. If it is approved will it effect her entry?

4. Apply for transfer and once it is approved, donot join company B till she enters USA?

5. Should i apply H4 transfer for her too?
 
H4 transfer can only be applied for her when she is in the USA.
Generally you and she can enter the US with the old visa stamp.
Pls check with the attorney who is handling the transfer.
