Hey all,
My new employer applied for H1 transfer. The application was recieved by USCIS on April 6th. So after 2 weeks my attorney was trying to track the application and so called the California center on 20th April. she couldnt get any info. On friday(21st April) she again called up California center and finally was able to get the reciept number on phone.
Today I check the status using the reciept nnumber and its saying
Current Status:
On April 21, 2006, we responded to your request for more information concerning your case. If you have not received our response within 30 days from this date, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.
does this mean its an RFE? If so, when we respond can we convert it premium processing?
I am also surprised that the day they issued the reciept number is when they asked for more information. did it happen to anybody? I was under the impression that few days after u get the reciept number is when u usually get an RFE right?
I dont know wht the RFE is, but I have been in legal status all along. came on F1, got a job, converted to H1 and have H1 visa stamping valid till Sep2007
