H1 Transfer & Employment Dates

On the H1 petition (I-797), there are various dates such as Notice Date and Receipt Date.

When we apply for transfer of H1, what is the date that our employment starts with the new employer ?
Is it reflected in I-797 ?

For instance, if a person has on the H1 transfer I-797,
a Receipt date of August 12, 2000.
Notice Date: October 6, 2000.
Validity: Aug 11, 2000 - Sept 8, 2002

What would be the employee's last date of employment with former employer ?
What would be his first date of employment with new employer ?


Would someone share light on other dates and their significance ?

If it is an H1 transfer, the employment can begin any time after Receipt Date (and I think within 90 days of approval /notice date).
The last day with previous employer can be after H1 transfer receipt date.
